Best Score Averages Service

Cooperation in Sports, Inc. will be providing a “best score averaging” service for each sport. Teams will register their best scores, which will be used to calculate and publish the sport-wide average. No individual teams scores will ever be published. This encourages teams to help other teams increase the average best score, to which they all contribute. Pure cooperation will exist between teams as well as within them! Best score registration will be available free via the world wide web or for a small fee via postal mail.

Here is how it will work.

One person from each cooperative sports team will be designated as the reporter of their best score. This person will provide this score to Cooperation in Sports through a simple form based team and best score registration process on the World Wide Web, (or send the same information to us via regular mail). Each team will register with a unique name, which will allow us to identify it when it wants to report a new best score.

Cooperation in Sports will keep a list of these names and their best scores and use it to calculate and publish the average of all the scores periodically.

New teams will be encouraged to register and report their best scores even when they are still way below the current average, because we want the average to be as true to the reality of the sport as a whole as possible, not skewed upward by teams waiting until they have a "decent" score to register. After all, holding back with your below average best score will only push the average up and create artificially high goals for all the other new teams. Statistics on the number or percentage of new teams will also be published, so everyone can see if the average is being reported by mostly experienced teams or a good number of new teams as well.
